DeltaTo Improve In Flight Service On International Routes.

Beginning in November, Delta Air Lines will provide main cabin passengers on international routes with an upgraded in-flight experience.

The revamped experience kicks off at the time of boarding when flight attendants greet passengers at the gate and provide a hot towel service. Shortly after departure, guests will receive complimentary Bellini cocktails.

Once in the air, as part of a refreshed menu, passengers will be able to select premium entrees featuring recipes inspired by Delta One dishes. If a traveler’s appetite is lacking, there will be a range of delicious appetizers to choose from as well.

Meals will be served on custom plateware with upgraded cutlery and placemats available. Dessert will include a choice between complimentary coffee, tea, wine, or water.

Following the meal, the cabin crew will provide a second hot towel service; and farewell chocolates will be given as a final treat, as the plane descends to the destination.

The fresh approach is coming after an extensive review. The airline has tested the new service on close to 14,000 hours of flight time, and has taken into account reviews from more than 1,800 customer surveys and crew feedback; as well as working with a design time of 24 flight attendants to launch the new additions.

The icing on the cake is the recently upgraded amenity kit provided in the main cabin that includes a sleep mask, a dental kit, cleansing towelettes, and earplugs.

Air Canada Announces New Route YVR-Auckland-New Zealand.

Air Canada announced  the addition of a new non-stop route from Vancouver to Auckland, New Zealand.

This seasonal route will operate four times a week on Air Canada’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

The decision to launch this route advantageously expands Air Canada’s presence internationally, particularly in the Asia-pacific market. Vancouver has become an increasingly popular destination for Kiwi tourists, especially during the winter season.

The route also further solidifies YVR’s position as an international hub. Travellers from New Zealand will now have increased access to the multitude of routes flying out of YVR.

The newly announced flights are timed to easily connect with flights to many non-stop North American destinations out of YVR.

The route is an exciting opportunity that drives important economic benefits for our region and provides Canadians access to a city with dynamic culture and a summer getaway during the winter months.

Auckland is routinely rated one of the most livable cities in the world and offers the perfect mix of natural and urban wonders. The city showcases New Zealand’s multitude of adventurous activities and vibrant Polynesian-influenced culture.

Flights to this amazing destination will begin December 19, 2019 through March 2020.

United To Improve Complimentary Snacks Anytime During The Day.

United Airlines announced on July 1 that passengers now can choose between three complimentary in-flight snack items. Regardless of departure time, they have their pick between pretzels, Byrd’s Maple Wafers, and the customer favorite of stroopwafels.

Prior to the announcement, the complimentary snacks were rotated on flights that departed before 9:45 a.m. But now, customers can enjoy a treat of their choice morning, noon, or night.

Since they reintroduced free snacks a few years ago, their customers have come to look forward to enjoying their personal favorites onboard – whether it be the stroopwafel, or their exclusive maple wafers, or the classic pretzels.

Now United are going a step further and when it comes to snacks, every customer wins, since their entire inflight snack lineup is available to choose from no matter the time of day.

Choice Menu snack shop and Bistro onboard, which feature hot and cold entrees and snacks, as well as food items that are unique to United, will remain available for onboard purchase on select flights.
