Air Canada Introduces Premium Economy Basic and Business Class Basic Fares

Air Canada has introduced new Premium Economy Basic and Business Class Basic fare options, effective July 28, 2026. The new fares are designed to meet growing demand for premium leisure travel while offering additional fare choices.

Passengers will continue to receive core premium benefits, including premium cabin seating, complimentary meals, priority boarding, and priority baggage handling.

However, the new Basic fares are non-refundable, changes are permitted for a fee, and advance seat selection is available at an additional cost.

The new fares include one complimentary checked bag. Premium Economy Basic does not include lounge access, while Business Class Basic includes access to the Maple Leaf Lounge but not the Signature Suite.

The new fare options are available on select routes to the Caribbean, Mexico, Latin America, South America, and Air Canada's transatlantic joint venture markets.
