In 2025, Universal Horror Unleashed will debut in Las Vegas.
More details about the year-round horror attraction, which will serve as the focal point of the 20-acre Area15 expansion—an art and entertainment district that features immersive experiences like Meow Wolf's Omega Mart—were unveiled by Universal Destinations and Experiences on Thursday.
Four eerie houses will be featured in Universal Horror Unleashed, which is set inside a shadowy warehouse. Scarecrow: the Reaping, Blumhouse's The Exorcist: Believer, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Universal Monsters are among the houses with distinct themes.
Universal described the spaces around each house as "sinisterly themed and immersive" with live entertainment.
Additionally, Universal Horror Unleashed will have pubs and restaurants with horror-themed menus.
According to Universal, the entire experience will be refreshed often, including with goods and seasonal events.
"These haunted houses aren't for the faint of heart -- they are intense and feature elevated moments where the horror surrounds guests in unimaginable ways," claimed Universal.
Universal is well-known for its expertise in horror-themed events; visitors consistently enjoy its particularly priced Halloween Horror Nights in its theme parks. Additionally, Universal Pictures is the studio behind well-known and timeless monster series, such as "Frankenstein" and "The Wolf Man."
The Vegas experience is also a part of Universal Studios' broader growth, which includes the opening of a smaller, family-friendly park in Dallas and its Epic Universe theme park the following year.
"We wanted to add a year-round horror experience to the amazing entertainment options in Las Vegas because of Universal's rich history in creating the genre," stated Page Thompson, president of Universal Destinations & Experiences. "We're thrilled to have our award winning creative and entertainment teams working tirelessly to bring these terrors to life in 2025."
