Canada Expands Online Passport Renewal to Eligible Adults Nationwide

Eligible adult Canadians can now renew their passports online following the federal government’s expansion of its digital renewal service.

The updated program removes previous limits on the number of users, allowing all eligible adults across Canada to access the online renewal option.

The service allows applicants to complete the renewal process digitally, including submitting their application, passport photo, and payment online. Eligible travellers no longer need to mail documents or visit a Service Canada Centre.

The expanded service aims to make passport renewal more convenient, especially for Canadians living in rural areas or those who face challenges accessing in-person services.

The online option is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize passport services. Traditional renewal methods, including in-person and mail-in applications, will continue to remain available.
