A First Look at Virgin Voyages’ Latest Ship

Virgin Voyages’ newest ship, Brilliant Lady, has arrived, bringing the brand’s signature energy to sea. Off the coast of Nantucket, the atmosphere onboard was lively from the moment the ship left Halifax—music playing nonstop, frozen drinks in hand, and sunbathers filling every day bed.

The 1,408-cabin vessel is the latest addition to Virgin Voyages’ growing fleet and was previewed during a special “friends and family” sailing before reaching New York City. The cruise line continues to be a favorite among travelers thanks to its adults-only concept, strong dining program, and a crew known for delivering a standout experience. While the brand doesn’t position itself as a traditional luxury cruise line, it continues to attract travelers seeking a stylish, kid-free vacation at a more attainable price point.

Since launching Scarlet Lady in 2021, Virgin Voyages has expanded quickly in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Brilliant Lady builds on what guests love about the existing ships, while adding new touches designed for returning sailors. The company aims to balance affordability with personality, introducing concepts that feel playful and unexpected.

The ship debuts several new features, including a Spanish-inspired restaurant called Rojo, expanded fitness spaces on open decks, and a layout that avoids buffets entirely. Brilliant Lady also boasts an impressive number of bars and lounges—16 in total—ranging from a Mediterranean-style space to a rum-focused hideaway and multiple live-music venues. Music plays a major role across the ship, with curated playlists that shift from day to night, even extending into the staterooms.

In 2026, Brilliant Lady is scheduled to sail in Alaska, marking the first time Virgin Voyages enters that region. The ship also highlights the line’s emphasis on its diverse, expressive crew, who are encouraged to bring their personalities to their roles, creating an atmosphere that feels open and genuine.
