Air Canada Rouge Introduces First Boeing 737 MAX with Upgraded Cabin Experience

Air Canada Rouge has officially launched its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking the debut of the airline’s comprehensive cabin renewal program designed to enhance the passenger experience across its leisure network.

The newly introduced aircraft represents the first step in Rouge’s broader fleet transition. Passengers traveling on leisure and sun routes throughout North America and the Caribbean will begin experiencing upgraded interiors focused on comfort, connectivity, and consistency.

The refurbished cabins feature personal seatback entertainment systems, reclining seats for all passengers, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by Bell. The upgrades are intended to deliver a more modern onboard environment while improving overall in-flight connectivity.

The aircraft configuration is designed for short-haul leisure travel and includes 12 Business Class seats, 18 Preferred seats with additional legroom, and 147 Standard Economy seats.

The renewal initiative extends beyond the introduction of the Boeing 737 MAX. Aircraft currently operated by Rouge, including Airbus A320 and A321 models, will gradually be retrofitted to match Air Canada’s latest cabin design standards.

The broader fleet modernization also supports the airline’s future plans to introduce the Airbus A321XLR, a longer-range aircraft that will allow for expanded route opportunities.

In addition to aircraft upgrades, the airline is expanding its operational footprint in Western Canada. A new crew base in Vancouver will be established to support increased sun and leisure travel from the region, strengthening the airline’s presence and capacity for vacation destinations. ✈️
