For example, Talk Story Bookstore has many regional books and rare items at reasonable prices. Not only old books, it has a large amount of mass-market publications.
You also can see the worn and green cottage at the entry of the town. It is Taro Ko Chips Factory. There are no fixed hours of operation. If the door is open, then the store is open. It sells chips made of taro and sweet potato. It has plain or salty dried Chinese plum which is called lihing mui flavor.
Before leaving Hanapepe, how about visiting Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Lookout? If you decide to visit these places at the end of the trip, it will give you enough time to drive and hike there. And before the sun sets, drive down to Kekaha beach park to watch it dip over the horizon. You also can see the forbidden island of Niihau.
