Porter Airlines kicks off anniversary celebrations with Golden Porter Pass giveaway

TORONTO — Porter Airlines is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a limited-edition collection.

The airline has launched The Little Things Blind Boxes.

The collection features five Porter-themed items. They include Mr. Porter, the Dash 8-400 aircraft and the Embraer E195-E2 jet.

Other items include a miniature drink and a tiny suitcase.

One thousand of each item are available.

Each sealed box has a 1-in-500 chance of containing a Golden Porter Pass.

The pass is redeemable for 20 free flights to any Porter destination. That is equivalent to 10 round trips.

The blind boxes sell for US$22, or about C$30.

They are available for presale while supplies last.

Porter says the collection is inspired by the popularity of blind-box collectibles on social media.

The airline launched in 2006. It has since expanded beyond its original base at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Porter now serves destinations across Canada, the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.

Shipping for the blind boxes is expected to begin in late November.
