Royal Caribbean Group has announced an exciting new development in its ongoing partnership with Meyer Turku—an agreement for a fourth Icon Class ship. Set to debut in 2027, this new vessel will continue the cruise line’s commitment to innovation and luxurious vacation experiences. The deal also includes options for a fifth and sixth Icon Class ship, signaling a strong future for Royal Caribbean’s fleet expansion.
A New Era of Cruising
Jason Liberty, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, expressed enthusiasm about the new order: “We’re thrilled to join with Meyer Turku once again to expand our roster of Icon Class ships and continue our future growth plans. Since its debut, Icon has transformed vacation experiences and far exceeded our expectations.”
The first Icon Class ship, launched in January 2024, has already set high standards for the industry. Following it, the Star of the Seas is slated to launch in 2025, with a third, yet-to-be-named Icon Class ship scheduled for 2026. This latest agreement reinforces Royal Caribbean’s dedication to enhancing its fleet with state-of-the-art vessels.
A Boost for Finland

Royal Caribbean Group’s long-term partnership will continue to have a positive impact on our employment and economy.” The collaboration not only bolsters Royal Caribbean’s fleet but also supports local jobs and economic growth.
A Longstanding Relationship
This new order continues a long and successful relationship between Royal Caribbean Group and Meyer Turku. Including this latest contract, Meyer Turku will have constructed 21 ships for Royal Caribbean over the past 28 years.
