Ancillary costs for Sunwing will increase as of September 9, 2024.
Standard and preferred seat selection will cost $5 more each, on average. Passengers will soon have to pay $25 for standard seat selection and $35 for priority seating.
Elite Plus will now cost $60 when pre-purchased, an increase of $10. However, it will cost $75 if purchased at airport check-in.
The fee for carry-on luggage is still $25 if it is reserved in advance. But if you buy this now at check-in, it will set you back $30.
Sunwing confirmed in an email to PAX that all of the pricing adjustments will be implemented for new reservations made starting on September 9.
As Sunwing prepares for winter
The announcement of Sunwing's 2024–25 winter itinerary, which includes flights from 24 airports in Canada to 27 sun destinations, precedes the update.
Three new destinations are available for customers to explore with direct flights from Toronto and Montreal: Tulum, Camaguey-Santa Lucia, and San Andrés.
"We are excited to introduce our initial winter lineup featuring more of the destinations our customers know and love, plus the exciting new additions of Tulum, Camaguey-Santa Lucia, and San Andrés, with direct flights starting as early as Nov. 2," stated Andrew Dawson, president of Sunwing Vacations Group, in a statement earlier. "As the leading vacation provider in the country, our commitment to providing travel advisors and their clients with accessible, affordable vacation options has remained steadfast," Dawson added.
"The demand for sun vacations is still rising, especially for winter travel, and early bookings are already exceeding last year's early booking numbers."
