Windstar Cruises is launching a new vessel in Alaska and Japan.

In 2026, Windstar Cruises, a small ship cruise company, will deploy Star Seeker, its newest vessel, to the Far East and Alaska.

Moreover, a number of Alaskan cruises will be available.

Before redeploying Star Breeze to serve as the year-round vessel in Tahiti, Windstar completed its last voyages in Alaska and Japan in 2023.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer our guests access to Japan and Alaska again," stated Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar.

"We have received requests from many people to visit these well-liked locations again, and we are aware of that."

From May through August 2026, Star Seeker will make seven-, ten-, and eleven-day voyages across Alaska between Vancouver and Juneau or Seward.

Options for Denali land tours will be available on the Alaskan cruises.

Star Seeker will sail to Japan to commence the well-liked 10-day Grand Japan cruises, which will sail between Tokyo and Osaka, after leaving Alaska in late August.

Star Seeker is expected to stay in Japan until November.

Early August 2024 is when Windstar expects to make Star Seeker's updated deployment specifics, which include Alaska and Japan, bookable.

Windstar will hire expedition directors to oversee its Signature Expeditions in Alaska.

They will go to isolated wilderness regions for skiff, kayak, and hiking excursions, such Misty Fjords.

Additionally, expedition leaders will educate the group on the history, culture, ecology, and animals of Alaska.

Prelog stated, "These immersive, small group expeditions are a key part of our Alaska program." "

The two new ships, Star Seeker and Star Explorer, will be joining Windstar's fleet of boutique yachts, the company said in April.

Each will resemble the line's present Star Class motor yachts and feature 112 rooms for a maximum guest capacity of 224.

Star Explorer is scheduled to arrive in Windstar in December 2026, while Star Seeker is scheduled to arrive in December 2025.
