SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, is opening a dedicated lounge at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

The lounge, which will be SkyTeam’s seventh branded facility and its first in North America, is set to open by the end of the year, and will be available to First, Business and Elite Plus customers flying on any of the alliance’s nine member airlines currently serving the airport.

“Increasing the number of SkyTeam lounges around the world realizes significant synergies for our airlines while offering a greatly enhanced airport experience for our top customers - delivering value for both,” said Perry Cantarutti, SkyTeam’s CEO and managing director.

“We recently opened our Beijing lounge, and with the planned opening of Vancouver later this year, SkyTeam will offer more branded airport lounges around the world than any other airline alliance.”

“We have nine valued SkyTeam airline partners at YVR and are thrilled Vancouver will be their first North American lounge location,” said Scott Norris, vice president, commercial development, Vancouver Airport Authority.

“We always want to offer exceptional customer experiences and I am confident that the new SkyTeam Lounge will do just that by providing premium amenities in a beautifully appointed location surrounded by our award-winning shopping facilities.”

The specific location at the airport, amenities and features of the new lounge will be revealed later this year ahead of the opening
